Our name was inspired by the Franz Kafka book The Trial, in which there is a story about a man who finds a gate between himself and an important goal.  In front of the gate stands a gatekeeper, who tells the man that he cannot pass now, but he may be able to do so at some time in the future; however, beyond this gate are still many other gates, each with a gatekeeper more formidable than the last.  The man tries everything to get the gatekeeper to allow him to pass through the gate, but nothing helps.  As the man grows old, he finally asks the gatekeeper why no one else has come to seek entry past the gate.  The gatekeeper responds “Here no one else can gain entry, since this entrance was assigned only to you. I’m going to now close it."
